Japanese Green Tea
Japanese green tea was founded by Eisan Myoan, the founder of Buddhism. Upon returning from China, he planted the tea seeds at his temple. After it was harvested, he realized that the tea was more exquisite than all the other tea grown in Japan.
By experimenting with different techniques to brew the tea, he found that grinding the tea leaves into a powdery substance, and mix it with hot water brought out the flavor of the tea.
Japanese green tea should not be brewed with boiling, but hot, water. The green tea itself, is usually not bitter. If a more astringent taste is desired, then increase the amount brewed, water temperature and brewing time.
To this day, Japanese use green tea for drinks, noodles, snacks, ice cream, food additives, and many other products. By could be that by using green tea product in nearly every food, Japanese people lives longer and healthier than any other country.
The tea provides polysaccharides, flavonoids, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin E, and fluoride. The leaves of the tea have vibrant green color and low in theophylline (stimulant).
